Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers before work begins.

Practical answers about pricing, estimates, debris, access, maintenance and compliance.

How much does weed abatement cost?

Pricing depends on square footage, vegetation density, slope, access, obstacles, disposal needs and the finish required. TerraFuego has a $250 service minimum. Our online estimator provides an instant preliminary range, and a free on-site estimate confirms the final scope and price.

Is the online estimate a final quote?

No. It is an instant preliminary estimate based on the information entered. The free on-site visit allows us to verify vegetation, terrain, access, equipment needs and any applicable inspection standards before issuing a final quote.

Do you offer one-time cleanups and maintenance plans?

Yes. We provide one-time corrective cleanups as well as recurring maintenance plans. Maintenance frequency is based on vegetation type, regrowth, rainfall, inspection timing and the level of finish the customer wants.

What areas do you serve?

We serve San Diego and Riverside Counties. We also accept select Orange County residential, commercial, utility and government projects based on size, location and scheduling.

Are you business licensed and insured?

Yes. TerraFuego is business licensed and insured. Business License #038981.

Do you provide free on-site estimates?

Yes. On-site estimates are free. You may also use the online estimator first to receive an immediate preliminary estimate.

Do I need to be home for the estimate or the work?

Not always. If access is available and the work area can be clearly identified, we may be able to assess or complete the project without the owner present. Access, gates, animals and scope boundaries are confirmed in advance.

What happens to the cut vegetation?

Debris handling is defined in the estimate. Depending on the site, material may be hauled, chipped, stacked, mulched or left in an approved manner. Disposal costs and access can significantly affect pricing.

Can TerraFuego work on steep or difficult hillsides?

Yes. Hillside vegetation management is one of our core services. We evaluate grade, footing, erosion concerns, hand-carry distance, equipment access and nearby structures before selecting a safe work method.

Can you help with a city or fire department abatement notice?

Yes. We can review the notice, identify the cited conditions, build the work scope around the deadline and provide completion photos when requested. The issuing agency remains responsible for the final compliance determination.

Do you provide defensible space inspections?

We provide property assessments and vegetation-management recommendations based on observable conditions and the requirements supplied by the customer or authority having jurisdiction. We do not replace an official fire department or code-enforcement inspection.

Do you serve commercial, utility and government properties?

Yes. TerraFuego provides vegetation management for residential, commercial, utility and government clients, including lots, slopes, access routes, rights-of-way and larger acreage.

How long does a typical project take?

Small projects may be completed in a few hours, while large acreage, dense brush or difficult terrain can require multiple days. The on-site estimate includes an expected schedule.

Can you remove poison oak or dense woody vegetation?

We can address many types of difficult vegetation, including poison oak and dense woody brush, when the scope can be completed safely. Plant type, exposure risk, access and disposal requirements are evaluated during the estimate.

Does vegetation management guarantee that a structure will survive a wildfire?

No. Fuel reduction and defensible space can reduce hazards and improve conditions for firefighters, but no contractor can guarantee wildfire outcomes. Wind, embers, structure construction, topography and fire intensity all affect risk.
